Business Professionals Scramble to Mentor Bay Area Children
3/30/2010 12:00:00 AM
Tampa, Florida – March 30, 2010 – Roger West Creative and Code, an integrated marketing and technology agency specializing in web design and online marketing, announced this week their partnership with Big Brother Big Sisters of Tampa Bay for the Third Annual Tampa Bay Scramble Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 at the Westchase Golf Club with a tee time at 1:00 p.m.
This year's event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, Inc., a non-profit agency providing caring mentors to at-risk children. Volunteers spend one-one-one time with a child several hours a month, working on academic and other goals. Funds raised during the tournament will help recruit, screen, train and supervise the hundreds of mentors who volunteer each year.
The Tampa Bay Scramble is a charity golf tournament played by a team of four golfers based on scramble scoring. “It’s a team-oriented event and provides a relaxing atmosphere for professionals to come together, network, build community and raise money for an honorable cause,” said Michael Westafer, CEO of Roger West. Players pay a fee for a round of golf, which includes a luncheon and awards ceremony following the scramble. Funds are also raised through a silent auction and by collecting donations and selling raffle tickets.
The Tampa Bay Scramble Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 at the Westchase Golf Club in Tampa, FL. Check-in for the event begins at 12:00 p.m. with shot-gun at 1:00 p.m. The cost for the event is $500 per team based on a four-player team or $125 per player. The price includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, awards, and door prizes. Teams must register in advance prior to May 21st, 2010. Sponsorship opportunities are also available at various giving levels.
